How to install an app on your phone
Apps are installed from your phone's official store: the Play Store on Android, the App Store on iPhone. Never install an app from a link you received by text message.
On an Android phone
- 1Open the Play Store: the colourful triangle icon ▶️.
- 2Tap the search bar and type the name of the app, for example "Weather".
- 3Tap the app in the list. Check that it has lots of reviews and good ratings.
- 4Tap the green "Install" button.
- 5When the button changes to "Open", it's ready. The icon also appears on your home screen.
On an iPhone
- 1Open the App Store (the blue icon with an A), tap "Search" at the bottom, then type the name.
- 2Tap "Get". The iPhone may ask you to confirm with your face, your fingerprint or your Apple password.
Good to know: Watch out for copies: look at the developer's name under the title. Your bank's app should be published by your bank.
