How to take a screenshot on your phone

A screenshot is a picture of what's showing on your phone: a message, a train ticket, a recipe. It's handy for keeping information or showing it to someone close to you.

On an Android phone

  1. 1Find the Power button and the Volume down button on the side of the phone.
  2. 2Press both at the same time, for just a second, then let go.
  3. 3The screen flashes and a small picture appears at the bottom: the screenshot is saved.
  4. 4To find it, open the Photos or Gallery app, in the "Screenshots" album.

On an iPhone

  1. 1Press the side button (on the right) and the Volume up button (on the left) at the same time, then let go.
  2. 2On an iPhone with a round button below the screen: press that button and the side button at the same time.
  3. 3The screenshot is saved in the Photos app.

Good to know: If the volume changes instead of taking a screenshot, the two buttons weren't pressed at exactly the same time. Try again, pressing both firmly at once.
